1st Annual Summer Soccer Kickoff Tournament

At Valeo FC our interests stretch beyond soccer as we pursue the development of the whole child. We are invested in the growth of our children on and off the field as we encourage academic excellence and seek to foster a culture of social awareness, volunteering and giving back. In 2016 we launched the Valeo Futbol Foundation in an effort to support and sustain our Community Development Initiatives.

This summer, in collaboration with Project Right Inc. (PRI) and Upham’s Corner Health Center (UCHC), we are hosting the 1st Annual Summer Kickoff Community Soccer Tournament right in the heart of Dorchester at Ceylon Park. We will be working closely with the Village In Progress Coordinators (formerly known as Violence, Intervention and Prevention) from both PRI and UCHC in an effort to engage the Dorchester/Uphams Corner Community.

The goal of the VIP Initiative is to strengthen the capacity of Boston’s neighborhoods to prevent violence over the long term through community engagement and action. This tournament would serve as a fun day for the youth and the community to come together and celebrate the arrival of summertime. Our hope is to use soccer as a rallying point as we bring teams from all over the city to foster a greater sense of community.

We are aiming to bring together community members who share our interests and goals of building safe, healthy communities and fostering social responsibility among our youth. It is our goal to continue our combined efforts throughout the summer and the school year by setting aside time for these opportunities.
