[Newton, MA – March 16] Valeo Futbol Club (VFC) is pleased to announce that we have been selected by the U.S. Soccer Federation to be part of the expansion for the U13 and U14 U.S. Soccer Boys’ Development Academy (DA) starting in Fall 2019. The DA focuses on supporting club environments to aid in maximizing youth player development throughout the country. The DA values individual development of elite players over winning trophies and titles.

The DA is a partnership between U.S. Soccer and top-level clubs across the country that represents the top tier of youth soccer in the United States. Being chosen as part of the expansion “speaks volumes about our program and our player development philosophy,” said Corlton Simmond, Director of Coaching.

The DA is an important step for young, aspiring players as the DA offers various talent identification opportunities throughout the year. Since the inception of the DA, 19 Academy alumni have earned U.S. Men’s National team call-ups and 1250 Academy players have earned Youth National Team call-ups. The DA serves to connect national team coaches at all age levels directly with elite youth players, while also serving as a venue for advanced coaching and referee development.

VFC players will now have the chance to play at the highest level of competition in the country without having to leave the club. This announcement reinforces Valeo's mission of providing the very best learning environment for soccer and personal development for committed players who are passionate about the game.

VFC is dedicated to developing competitive athletes, outstanding citizens and strong leaders, and as members of the DA we will continue to provide the highest level of training and competition for our players. We are invested in our players at every level by offering programs for players new to the game and as part of the DA expansion, we now have the next step for our players.
